Mission

The mission of Literacy Squared® is to develop an instructional model that strengthens bilingualism and biliteracy in Spanish and English while also developing the assessment tools and research base to support and advance biliteracy education in the U.S.

Biliteracy is a higher form of literacy than monoliteracy.

Professional Development

Literacy Squared® offers professional development sessions for PK-5 teachers and administrators, available both in-person and online. These sessions explore theoretical foundations, the key components of the Literacy Squared Holistic Biliteracy framework, innovative instructional strategies, cross-language connections, and biliterate reading and writing assessment trajectories.

This has been one of the best PDs that I've gotten to attend. I learned so much about dual language best practices, and I am better equipped as a teacher to help my students better. I can now understand my simultaneous bilingual students better.
